Guess what these teeth in the garden are? Yes, carnivorous plants as an indoor plants. Featured in The Herald Palladium written by Mark Fonteccio is about Ron Dudek, a fifty-three years old man living in Watervliet, Michigan, who is a carnivorous plant lover since he was five. What is amazing with this man is growing a tropical carnivorous plant (Nepenthes hamata) indoors.
This plant is native in tropical which requires high humidity and moderate temperature. So, how did Dudek did grow this plant? Well, he first grow it in a terrarium where he controlled the conditions and eventually the plants get used to the conditions closer to the house climate. Now, you can see this plant anywhere in the room.
Dudek passion not only stops from growing them but turned his house into a carnivorous plant haven. Anywhere you go you get to see them hanging somewhere or plant in the windowsill. He is also gave talks about his hobby and in the midst of writing a children book about carnivorous plant. But there is more, he actually written a comic strip called the “The Flytrap Side” and take off the popular cartoon by Gary Larson named “Far Side“.
